Observation 208649: Enterographa hutchinsiae (Leighton) A. Massal.
When: 2015-07-03
Collection location: Sintra, Portugal [Click for map]
Who: zaca
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing on bark.
The genus proposal – Enterographa – is based on the coloration of the thallus and to the existence of immersed apothecia, in addition to some punctiform and, at places, somewhat lirellate apothecia. Clearly it deserves microscopy to say something more precise.

Spores;
(24.8) 26.3 – 32.8 (35.3) x (4) 4.1 – 4.9 (5) µm
Q = (5.7) 5.8 – 7.3 (8.3) ; N = 31
Me = 29.4 × 4.5 µm ; Qe = 6.5

It seems that the difference in appearance from my previous observations of Enterographa hutchinsiae is the result of more developed apothecia (and not only immersed). All the microscopic features observed fit well in this species.
