Cap azonate, dull tan without pinkish, cinnamon, or yellowish tints even when young, gills close, white, stipe white, latex white, unchanging, slowly acrid, then intensely bitter. Spores not checked under microscope or with Meltzers. Under oak in grass and moss, soil likely with some sand but on the whole more a clay type. L. alachuanus Not listed for Pennsylvania so this is likely another similar species.
