Notes: Near an apple tree and not far from a shagbark hickory. No oak in this area. No conifers.

ash and maple in the area. But these are not known to form associations with amanitas. The area where I found this one is 200-300 feet from the slope where I find most of my “old 17”. Lawn and my house separate the two areas. This type mushroom seems to (almost) always occur in grassy areas.

This is a real nice specimen, so even though I’ve already sent in multiple examples of this species gathered from my property, I’m drying this one and it’ll be included in a the next package.

Interestingly limited list of possible associates.
