Notes: Single fresh fruit body on Crabapple Tree in suburban residential area. Upper surface moist with texture of soft cheese, which the beetle seems to be feasting on. Very strong unpleasant/foul odor. Context is concentrically zoned with various shades of tan and reddish-brown. It was difficult to cut through the specimen with a sharp knife. Much of the context is moist but the portion nearest the point of attachment to the tree is woody and very hard. 3 mm. tubes are dark brownish-black and exude a clear liquid. White fertile surface with 4 round pores per mm.
