Observation 209477: Amanita roseitincta (Murrill) Murrill

Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Growing at the base of a large pine tree. Medium size specimen.

Total length – 13 cm. Overall mushroom was not fully opened, in fresh condition. Non-bruising staining.

Cap: covered by a find pinkish-orange powder. Not fully opened. Flesh white firm.
Cap Diam – 6 cm
Cap Depth – 2.3 cm

Gills: free, ivory colored slightly darker than flesh. Close. Some short intermediate gills.
Breadth – 8 mm at cap thickest, 2 mm at cap quarter point.

Stipe:
length from cap to bulb – 6 cm. Stipe hollow from bulb to cap. Hollow is 3 mm diameter near cap and 6 mm about 1 cm above bulb. Skirtlike annulus was laying on the ground next to the specimen.

Bulb: has short lipped edge at beginning of stipe. Solid, white interior.
Length – 3 cm
Buried Depth – 2 cm
Width – 3 cm

Did not taste, did not smell anything but I have hay fever.
