Notes:
Growing at the edge of the trial under Tsuga canadensis. Betula sp., Fagus grandifolia and Pinus strobus nearby. Fruiting body 7.6 cm high (1.3 cm cap + 6.3 cm stem. Cap covered with fine scales; dry; 2.0 cm wide. Cortina purple. Stem 2.5 cm wide at base; ~1.1 cm wide at midpoint; 1.1 cm wide at apex. Basal mycelium purple. Gills purple.
