Observation 210280: Monotropa uniflora L.
When: 2015-07-11
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Very mature, black flowered specimens. We find tons of Russell brevipes and Lobster mushrooms here every Fall. Great indicator for symbiotic species of fungi. Best to find the candy cane(Allotropa virgata) in summer- you always know Matsutake will follow by September!

These from my anecdotal experience parasitize R.brevipes.

Elevation: Sea level.

Temp: low 90’s.
