Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Tan mushroom, largish (10cm or more wide), umbilicate with darker browns in the middle, pale off-white free gills, abundant short gills, no latex. Almost looks like Pluteus except for habitat: terrestrial in pine duff, nowhere near fallen wood. The Pluteus I see also tend to be smaller, convex, with fibrillose cap.

In Zone 49 beneath Pinus, Acer, Betula.
