Yes, I do think this material is likely to be A. atkinsoniana.

I have seen it in a young stage previously and watched the volva go from gray to brown over a few days.

Actually, it was fairly damaged by insects. The gills were almost completely eaten away.

Rod, do you think this is an example of atkinsoniana? One reason why I checked this species was because I had previously collected an example you had IDed (via photos) as atkinsoniana. The warts on the bulb seem telling. If the photos are useful to you, then please use them.

This is a good example because it’s young enough for the warts to still be gray. Most images show the mature material with brown warts on cap and bulb.

This would be a good collection to include in our herbarium to voucher the images. I’d like to use the images on the website.
