I find this type each summer…

in the same area (Seven Tubs). I have been under the impression that the eastern NA green-staining orange-latex are classified as L. deterrimus. This spot has no spruce, which appears to cast doubt upon the application of this name. Actually, I had wondered… because this rather diminutive type appears to associate with hemlock. The green staining on these tends to be on the light side. I find a type that is similar (same?) in another area which features hemlock and white pine, no spruce.
