…this was just a twig photographed on top of a furry animal. There are no mushrooms on this dead wood visible to the normal human eye.

If you ask me, and I realize you are not asking me, the voting system is a great thing for a lot of reasons I won’t try to bore you with here. The system you propose for others, specifically not using the voting system for your observations, but to use comments only, can easily be applied to yourself. No one can change your comment in which you define what you wish the observation to be called. The voting part is normally considered a means for the public to comment on your post. I have learned a lot by this process, normally but not always, from people who know more than me.
