Notes: Found this in a mix forest with lots of beech trees. This has pores and not gills.

Thank you for asking for the required information , now I have more specifics to work with when taking photos . I am very new to this and I really only know a few edible mushrooms . I will make the next post has the underside and the sliced mushroom and I will wait to see if it turns color or not as well .

Please try to take some good macro pix of the gross morphology before handling. Also, note any bruising/discoloration of the cap/stem and pore surface, then slice the mushroom lengthwise from top to bottom and observe changes, if any, to the exposed context and tubes. Finally, comment on the tree species in the immediate vicinity — habitat description always helps!

I don’t know why I forgot to photograph the underside! Sorry I can see this a serious problem with the ID . I will see if I can find it tomorrow and add the underside .

Other “views” and, more importantly, close ups are missing. Identification from images by others requires the collector to work closely with specimens, i.e., handling them!
