Small slender Chanterelle growing in hardwood bottom. Caps to 2 cm, long slender stems. Depressed center with inrolled edges in small caps. Cap, ridges, stem bright yellow. Gills very narrow with blunt edges, cross-veined, forked, reach edge of cap.
I was surprised to find these as it has been very hot and dry for the last 2 weeks or more. This bottom area seems to hold a bit more moisture than surrounding areas.
The measuring tape in the photos is in centimeters.
Spore Print in progress.
