Observation 211567: Cortinarius luteus Peck
When: 2015-07-25
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Notes: Spore print rusty brown.

The very small buttons appear to be the same species as the one mature specimen. All of these mushrooms smelled the same, like dirt. All found within a few square yards.

Genus Cortinarius ID first proposed by Gina Vachino. (I thought the mature one may have been a Gymnopilus, and the small ones…?)

looked exactly like this, right down to the buttons. I really think the name C. luteus applies here.
