Observation 212057: Chalciporus piperatus (Bull.) Bataille

Notes: Cap appearing scaly but that texture may have been due to wrinkles. Pore surface orange and bruising brown. Basal mycelium yellow. Cap margin overhanging. Did not taste. Growing near red oak, beech, birch, red maple and hemlock about 1 foot from an Amanita muscaria var. guessowii (obs 261868).
