Observation 212108: Russula tenuiceps Kauffman
When: 2015-06-06
No herbarium specimen

Notes: The two most salient features of this bright red Russula are the beautiful pink flush over all of the stem and its extreme fragility. Even though handled very gingerly, this specimen crumbled to smithereens before I could get it into my basket. Growing in ground under Oak in mixed hardwood forest.
