Observation 212323: Diploschistes actinostomus (Ach.) Zahlbr.
When: 2015-08-08
Collection location: Óbidos, Portugal [Click for map]
Who: zaca
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing on the brick of a fence.
In the field I thought this could be a common Aspicilia; only when looking at the photos I realise the tiny urceolate apothecia/perithecia, which together with the whitish thallus fits quite well in Diploschistes actinostomus.

Going back to the place, I found a great amount of specimens. I attach some new photos of specimens with images from the microscopy super-imposed and other microscopic data. For the spores I obtained the following dimensions:
(21.5) 22.5 – 32.9 (38.4) x (11.8) 14 – 18.1 (21.3) um
Q = (1.3) 1.5 – 2 (2.1) ; N = 40; Me = 27.8 × 15.8 um ; Qe = 1.7.
