not letting go of the cap surface. As a result many of the warts are surrounded by whitish areas that appear to covered with frost. The white areas on this cap are due to pigment loss by bleaching or by rain washing out the pigment. So I do not think this is A. aprica, Chris. Do you have clues that are not in the photographs? Do you have Melzer’s reagent to check for amyloidity of the spores?
