guide to the species of Cortinarius. I don’t own any of these volumes. I assume the entire set is kinda pricey.

Among the hundreds of NA Cort species, a handful are readily identifiable.

on the stipe of C. armillatus should be the most prominent, sometimes (almost) forming an annulus. This specimen has the lowest ring as clearly most prominent. Also, the colors (cap and gills) seem wrong for armillatus.
