many lichens

Hi Daniel,

Most of the rocks in this desert have either no lichens, or many lichens, which is strange. If we are going for a one observation one species rule, then this observation is of the green lichen in the foreground. I’m not sure what I intended by sharing this photo on MO. Is intention a necessary component of a scientific observation? Is intention a necessary component of a work of art?

the foreground is a lichen (largest area). The background (dark brown) is also a lichen, but less in focus. I’m hoping you intended the foreground, Dan?
