This is my first microscopic experience with Peltigera.
Among the species considered in the British Flora, P. horizontalis is one with smaller spores (shorter only _P. elisabethe). I got the following dimensions:
(25.4) 28.7 – 36.5 (42.8) x (5.6) 5.9 – 7.2 (7.7) um
Q = (3.6) 4.4 – 5.5 (6.3) ; N = 22; Me = 32.7 × 6.6 um ; Qe = 5.
