a good example of what Pseudoinonitus dryadeus looks like, or check out MO’s Most Confident Observations for other good examples. I believe Inonotus dryadeus is a deprecated synonym. Also, P. dryadeus is parasitic on living Oaks. From what I can see in your pictures, you have a crust fungus there … resupinate with slightly rolled over edges.. on dead wood.
