Observation 213996: Lentinellus P. Karst.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Growing from a log. Very mild flavor.

Spores smooth, thin walled, with a conspicuous oil droplet, broadly ellipsoid, with a conspicuous hilar appendage, 2.7 – 3.3 × 3.7 – 4.3 µm.

Gloeocystidia(?) present, arising from long hyphae in the lamellar trama, yellowish in KOH, roughened at the apex.

I was expecting a peppery taste, but it definitely was mild.

I would propose “Lentinellus.” I wonder if there is a Lentinellus species with mild taste?
