Other: Stipe has very fine hairs which the photos do not show.
The photos may well show two taxa. To the extent that is true, this Observation is intended to be only the gray mushrooms.

According to books, there are only two: M. amicta and M. subcaerulea. The latter grows on hardwoods and has not been reported from the Pacific states.
