volva as illiustrated by the images of this observation and collected in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana are of special interest to me because we have very little or no material representing the “rhacopus group” from these states.

Readers can inquire by contacting me via the email feature of mushroomobserver.org. For the most common species in the group, we already have material from Texas in the west and from the Carolinas and Tennessee northward in the east.
