I think buried or well decayed wood so that would be consistent. I almost didn’t post this because I was thinking the same thing. I uploaded another closeup not the best focus however.
a young Hymenopellis furfuracea, except the cap appears faintly translucent-striate instead of showing the typical radial wrinkles. Was it directly on wood or growing from buried wood?
