Notes: Pileus deep red, subvelutinous to subtomentose, dry, 2.5-6.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex. Flesh yellow to pale yellow, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, yellow to dull yellow to greenish yellow, unchanging with pores dull yellow to greenish yellow or sometimes with dull reddish brown tints, unchanging. Stipe 4-8 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal or rarely subclavate and tapered at base, dry, lacerate-ridged and heavily subpruinose, deep red, white at base, with interior pale yellow to white, unchanging. Scattered to gregarious. Sclerophyll, heath-type vegetation. Melaleuca, Allocasuarina. In sand.
This is the second known locality (the other is the type locality on Fraser Iland).
