Observation 215171: Scleroderma bovista Fr.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Solitary in grass alongside sidewalk. 5 cm. across X 4 cm. high. Light tan, bruises pinkish with handling. Small pseudobase with white rhizomes. Rind:1 mm. thick, whitish turning purplish when sliced. Spore mass black with white threads scattered throughout.
