Just from the photo I thought of Pisolithus.
Can we see the inside? Cut from top to bottom as clean as you can so we can see the spore mass and the subgleba & diaphram (if those items are present).

I looks like some sort of puffball. Might be a Pisolithus or a dried Calvatia. Seeing the inside would help narrow it down.
