Who: nus (nus)
Notes:
Found this russula under Scotch Pine. Didn’t quite manage to identify with Roger Phillips.
Cap: 6cm, intense vinaceous/blood red, matte, dry, peeling about half way to center leaving raspberry yogurt color underneath.
Flesh: white, discoloring a little brownish on cutting but not much, very hard/firm, not at all mushy or fragile. Taste and smell indistingtive, definitely not hot.
Stem: about: 50×15mm. Soft lilac color. No ring.
