Observation 215394: Hemimycena Singer

When: 2015-07-09

Collection location: Walpole Island, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

42.6351° -82.5001°

Who: Chris Hay (hayfield)

Specimen available

nickname: “Mycena holy” (so white and semi-translucent it looks like it glows in the darkness under the grass)
emerging from soil (or litter), almost always singly
common across my tall grass prairie sites, but difficult to assess since it’s so small and only found as singles

No better photos but see other Mycena sp. on this list (ON TGP) that I believe are the same species (removed the photos I originally reposted here to avoid confusion). The specimen was destroyed before more photos were taken and sequencing was unsuccessful.

Species Lists

1 – main specimen, terrible photo illustrates “glowing” effect
