Notes: A single small specimen fruiting in ground, mixed woods. Cap: 2.8 cm., dry, velvety, finely aerolate. Stem: 5.6 cm X 8 mm. No spore print available.

that day on a MOMS foray. They are easy to miss because they are so small — especially when the leaves start to fall — but that special color never fails to catch one’s eye.
