Specimen available

Basal bulb buried. Volva thin/membranous and adhered to the stipe. Photo taken after volva was peeled away from the stipe. Ring yellow.

Beech dominated woods. Also lots of maple and cherry. Some birch present, hemlock 100 feet away.

Spores globose.

KOH applied to the dehydrated cap produced a bright lemon yellow reaction.
