which I believe support A. praecox: short-striate predominantly yellow cap, cap viscid, basal volva limbate. Praecox is known to often lose it’s ring. Usually regarded as an early season mushroom, but fruiting may persist into summer. Champignons du Quebec gives the season as mid June through October.
