Notes: Long stem seems unusual. Same shape fruit body on entire log – which was ironwood.

The account is surprisingly definitive; the species, if accepted as such, is thought to be cosmopolitan, possibly worldwide or at least in the Northern Hemispere. It also sounds like this is as easy to culture as a slime mold, though admittedly, it takes longer to get stromata.

Have you ever seen this in the field?
