Observation 215732: Mutinus Fr.

When: 2014-10-30

Collection location: Norfolk Co., Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

42.684° -80.4636°

Who: Chris Hay (hayfield)

Specimen available

Found an egg which I bisected since I thought it was a puffball at first. Now regret since could have potentially taken it to the lab and let it “hatch” and grow out (easier to ID when mature!)

A fragment of a mature stinkhorn (of the same species?) was found nearby on the same site. Both the egg and fragment smelled similar (terrible!)

sequencing is in the works, will update observation later
