Observation 215773: Amanita sect. Caesareae Singer

Solitary HUGE Caesar Amanita growing near Namakagon River at wayside trail along Route 63 (Sawyer Co.) in very sandy soil (not low area, well above water or floodplain), host trees were black oak. I have never seen anything like this in the East (reminiscent of A vernicoccora of West, size and color). A similar looking collection made several years ago by Patrick Leacock of the Field Museum in Indiana in dunes area near Lake Michigan.
