The cap of the “baby” is kinda dark for canescens and, as you noted, the cap of the mature fb is clearly virgate, but the warts are evocative of a sect. Lepidella. Maybe microscopy can help here with sectional placement… I agree that A. canescens is a weird lepidella in the way it sometimes presents itself – somewhat of a Validae wannabe. :-)
canescens may make sense here? Cap surface seems kinda radially streaky for a Lepidella. But, canescens seems to be a bit of an oddball Lepidella.
