Tubes adnexed, greenish yellow, cyanescent, pore likewise. Stipe 4-5 cm long, 6-9 mm broad, equal and slightly expanded at base and then tapering to a blunt point, yellow at extreme apex, then red overall and subpruinose, white at base, with interior yellow cyanescent, solid. Vaguely reminiscent of B. obscurecoccineus, but is cyanescent and lacks scabers on stipe.
