Notes: Must have been one of the last mushrooms to fruit as a 3-4 week spell of hot dry weather took hold.

Fruit body dense/hard, not insect tunnels. Colors seen in photo are as seen first hand. Blue staining in very pale cap context faded to dark reddish after a few minutes. Blue stain in bright yellow upper stipe developing a few minutes after sectioning.

Odor faint, unlike B. bicolor, possibly meat-like.

KOH dark rusty orange on cap, fairly vivid orange on all parts of context.
Ammonia not producing a strong reaction, pale yellowish on all parts.
