Observation 215948: Laricifomes officinalis (Batsch) Kotl. & Pouzar

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Nearly a four foot long specimen(from our estimates) hanging approximately 120ft. up an old growth Douglas fir. At least 4 living sporophores of Agarikon on this single massive tree.

Definitely a spiritual place to visit!

Elevation: Sea level.

Temp: mid 60’s.

Two sporophores on Eastern facing side of the tree. Well over a hundred feet up this one. Large conk is nearly 4ft long. Largest living Agarikon I have ever seen to date. Note the new layers on lower left of the massive conk beginning to seek out new paths for spore dispersal.
