On bamboo, a fence, or agar. You could make plug spawn, put that in and have the pattern radiate from the plug.

Indded, I just found the pattern superb and took a photo. I didn’t took any sample and, moreover, I don’t know what to observe there, besides hyphae distribution.

looks like Armillaria rhizomorphs, but much finer. would be interested to see this scoped.
