I have tried several of the edible amanita species, but not this one.
Next time I find it ill make sure to give it a try, A. jacksonii is my favorite edible with morels coming in a close second.
Yes, they are growing from the dirt through the mulch (the mulch was added recently), some big pines nearby.
I’ve eaten these on several occasions, they’re pretty good.
These will be breakfast.
I assume there is a tree somewhere, too…
