Observation 216946: Laccaria ochropurpurea (Berk.) Peck

Notes:
This anomalous specimen with two fused caps on a single stipe was fruiting in fallen leaves and other organic matter in an Oak-Hickory forest that has been hot and dry for two weeks. The specimen was too old and dry to give up a spore print.

I even had time to post a second ob with additional specimens. I just looked at the other obs. for L. ochropurpurea and saw Walt had one (#145750) from 2 years ago that even had the exact same anomaly. Must be common to that species. Thanks for the education.
