Observation 217002: Lecania A. Massal.

When: 2015-09-26

Collection location: Baleal, Peniche, Portugal [Click for map]

Who: zaca

No specimen available

Notes:
Growing on calcareous rock in the intertidal zone; the rock becoming half submersed at the higher level of the sea (see the photo of the habitat).

The coloration of the thallus is somewhat difficult to describe, but I would say light greyish with some greenish tones. It made me recall the observations of Lecania spadicea (I believe) at neighbour locations, though with different colours. Thus I think that can be of the same genus, though most probably not of that species.
