Observation 217143: Helvella sect. Macropodes Dissing

When: 2015-09-27

Collection location: Atécuaro, Michoacan, Mexico [Click for map]

19.5591° -101.1919° 2348m

Who: Alan Rockefeller (Alan Rockefeller)

No specimen available

Notes:
Growing on a well decayed stump in mixed conifer/hardwoods, the stump was likely conifer.

If you go there to recollect, be sure to stop at the nearby restaurant, it is excellent.

I was thinking Helvella macropus in the field, but the stem color doesn’t look like that. I collected these because the yellow stem bases caught my attention.
