Observation 217686: Melanoleuca Pat.
When: 2015-10-04
Who: mikasund
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This mushroom was found near Bristol, England, and come up in our front garden near many big trees under a bush/shrub. The mushroom is quite large, 10-12cm in diameter, and very firm. Most striking is the ribbed stem which does not run into the gills. Gills are very fine and white. There was a group of about 12 of them in the shade under the base. They grew out of the grass from the soil.
