Observation 21780: Deconica (W.G. Sm.) P. Karst.
When: 2009-06-06
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Probably the same species as my other recent observations of small psilocybes. Found in leaf littler under upland mixed hardwoods. These were growing directly from leaves, not wood. I ordered a microscope a few days ago. These little guys will be my first microscopy subjects.

I want better of both as well, but you gotta work with what ya got in the meantime.
plus that picture may be a bit blurry but its easy to make out the shapes, unlike some of my photographs which are blurry + small range of focus.
definitely looks psilocybe genus.

spores look like psilocybe

Spore photo was taken at highest magnification (100x/1.25-160/0.17) oil immersion. Not great, but not bad for my first attempt. I already want a better microscope and microscope camera.

I sorta combined the two, archiving microscopy with my camera.
