[OMS field trip, led by Don Moore]
Growing in moss. Caps ~2cm. No particular odor noted.
Spores 8.5-9 × 3.5-4. Basidia 4-spored, 22+3 x 6. Cheilocystidia forming a band, 18-20 × 8-9, with fingers ~10 microns long. No pleurocystia observed. No clamps.
Cheilocystidia have the shape common for section Filipedes, but with consistenly numerous fingers as in section Mycena. No good match was found in either section. M. pussila is perhaps closest, but it’s smaller and “looks different” (Observation 73101 and Observation 79574).
