We have two such taxa they have been separated tentatively from the set of known Limacella species of North America by molecular means. We have color images; and, for this reason, we can tell they bear some similarity to the species represented by this observation.
What we know is to be found here:
For the former we have some microscopic detail. For the latter, we have none as of yet.
This is the current situation.
The supporting specimen for this observation has been submitted to the UBC herbarium, but it is still waiting to be accessioned. There are four UBC specimens labelled “Limacella ochroleuca”, all collected and identifified by Oluna and all of them needs a closer look and scrutiny. What name would you suggest for our North American material? I assume that Oluna used Moser for ID (hence the European name), what other literature would you suggest?
Below are the other UBC collections labeled “Limacella ochroleuca”. All were collected and “identified” by Oluna. I will see if I have any jpegs or drawing going with them and if yes, I will post them on MO as well.
Many thanks for your comments and your help.
UBC herbarium has these additional Oluna’s specimens labelled as Limacella ochraceolutea:
